My Morning Coffee

I’m a coffee addict. I can’t explain it, but I just need it. I can drink it black. I can drink it sugary. I can drink an espresso or a latte. I don’t discriminate against it by any means. If it’s morning and there’s a coffee in front of me, I’ll drink it.

As I’ve said before, I’ve never been much of a breakfast person. As soon as I wake up my mind is running all over the place with things I need to do. It makes me anxious to lay in bed. Because of that, I need quick fixes to get my day going. I normally have a cup of coffee and a smoothie, but then I got this crazy idea…why not mix those two together? Obviously without the fruit and spinach/kale. So I started experimenting with some ideas and landed on what I drink now.

I use a French press like the one seen here.

I boil my water and add it to my coffee grounds. For French pressed coffee it’s best to use a coarse to medium ground coffee, which you can grind yourself or buy that way. If the coffee is too finely ground, it can pass through the filter and muddy the end result. After letting the coffee steep for about 5 minutes, I pour it into a blender. Once in the blender I add the following ingredients.

  • Silk Caramel Almond Creamer Sold at most grocery stores.

I feel like with this coffee I get the plant based protein of a smoothie IN MY COFFEE with added brain and metabolism boosting effects. Its a win-win. Normally I will grab some blueberries and cherries, or a quick oatmeal to fill me up for a little longer as well.

Like I said before, any kind or form of coffee is great. Hopefully this will be a little inspiration for your coffee on the day where you have way too much to do and not enough time.
