Toast everyday

I’m not a big breakfast person. If I make breakfast it’s something quick. Like a smoothie, muffin, hard boiled egg, oatmeal, or toast. Usually its just coffee though. Side note, growing up I used to love toaster strudels, both the fruit ones and the ones with egg and cheese. Obviously I no longer eat those because the ingredient list is shit, but man those were good.

There are many people that say “breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” I never understood that, mostly because Im usually not hungry at breakfast, but it has to due with getting your metabolism going, and giving you nutrients and energy for the day. I’ve been trying a little more to make breakfast when I’m not at work. When I am at work I don’t have time to eat breakfast. Somedays I’ll bring a hard boiled egg, most days I just have a large coffee. To be honest there is not a day I don’t have coffee.

Toasts are a great way to get carbs, fat, nutrients and vitamins all together. Carbs are a hot topic right now, and most people are trying to stay away from them. I think eat what you want, but all in moderation, and pick good quality carbs. Good quality carbs are actually good for the body. Carbs contain fiber which is not only good for weight control, but also good for your GI tract, and your heart by reducing cholesterol. They also give you energy, can boost memory and mood. Here are a couple of recipes I’ve tried that are guaranteed to give you a good start to your morning.

Peanut Butter Banana Bread

  • Ezekiel Sprouted Bread
  • Santa Cruz Organic Peanut Butter
  • KIND peanut butter oats
  • Banana
  • 1/2 tablespoon Thrive Market organic honey
  • Chia Seeds

Honey- Lemon Ricotta Breakfast Toast with Figs + Pistachios

  • Ezekiel Sprouted Bread
  • low fat ricotta
  •  fresh lemon, juiced
  • honey
  • 4 figs, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons pistachio pieces
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Funny disgusting fact 101: Figs have dead wasps inside. You will never be able to unlearn this. The crunch in the fig usually isn’t a wasp but sometimes there could be pieces of wasp exoskeleton in it. I swear, I’m not lying. Heres one of many articles on it.


Ricotta Toast with Pears and Honey
From Bon Appetit

  • ⅓ cup whole-milk ricotta
  • ½ teaspoon finely grated orange zest
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons honey, plus more for drizzling
  • Ezekiel Sprouted Bread
  • 1 medium Bartlett pear, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted, roasted sliced almonds


The all holy Avocado Toast


  • 1 slice Ezekiel Sprouted Bread
  • 1 oz mashed (1/4 small haas) avocado
  • 1 large egg
  • Sautéed Peppers and Onions
  • Salsa
  • Feta
  • Cayenne pepper
    Apple Cinnamon Peanut Butter Toast
